Company history

  • 1987

    The founding year

Willi Skoberne founded Skoberne GmbH in 1987. With a clear vision, hard work and a small team of just two employees, he began his work in a small garage. It was in this modest environment that the foundations for today's success were laid. Willi Skoberne presented his energy-saving system based on a heat exchanger, which was used to recover energy from the high-temperature exhaust gases of boilers. It turned out that conventional chimneys were unsuitable for discharging the cooled exhaust gases. This realisation laid the foundations for plastic flue gas pipes, which from then on played an important role in Skoberne GmbH's product portfolio.

  • 1990

First building authority approval of the company

n 1990, Skoberne GmbH achieved an important milestone: Willi Skoberne received the first building authority approval for flue gas pipes made of polypropylene, a material that meets the requirements for corrosion and temperature resistance and is installed as a pressure-tight flue gas pipe. This flue gas system was further developed and expanded together with the development departments of the boiler manufacturers. The wide product range includes various nominal widths diameters, so that today, flue gas pipes in dimensions from D60 to D315 can be offered. The plastic flue gas pipes were initially developed for flue gas temperatures up to 80°C. Only later was the maximum temperature increased to 120°C. In addition to the rigid flue gas pipes, flexible pipes allow for simple and quick installation in shafts and chimneys.

  • 1992

Sven Schuchmann joins the management board

In 1992, Sven Schuchmann, Willi Skoberne's son-in-law, became a furthe co-managing director of Skoberne GmbH. From then on, he was responsible for the technical development of the gas flue systems and the expansion of sales activities.
